12/28/2023 0 Comments Star citizen road map![]() You will also see our priorities, as obviously what is most important, urgent, or needed will be our immediate sprints, while after that will be what is next most important, urgent, or needed, and so on and so forth down the quarter or quarters. One of our overarching goals of this Public Roadmap overhaul is to show you what all our teams are working on so you can see the scale and breadth of work on our plates. ![]() And we are only showing a fraction of that because this current roadmap is predicated on an estimate of delivery. We have over 450 developers working tirelessly every day on Star Citizen and Squadron 42. However, in the two years since, the Public Roadmap, as an estimation of what will be delivered by a certain time, has become less representative of our actual progress. Several years ago, we unveiled the Public Roadmap – alongside our evolution to regular Alpha releases of more content, tech, and features – so that we could show you our estimated delivery of Alpha updates. But when you are literally doing what no one has ever done before and charting new territory in creating a universe of unprecedented scale and fidelity, there is no ready playbook and the reality is it takes time. As the Star Citizen Persistent Universe Alpha became ready to show and you could check out and test our progress yourself, we spoke less and let the game speak more. Therefore, we’re removing future work for the following deliverable temporarily as this work is being completed. You’ve seen us adapt to continue to show you our development progress: in the early days we spoke more and had less game to show. The following deliverable, previously removed, is returning to the Progress Tracker with this publish:īuilding, balancing, and implementing Aopoa’s medium fighter, the San’tok.yāi, into the game.Īfter assessing with the team and vehicles being worked on for Squadron 42 taking a higher priority, the following vehicles are being removed from Progress Tracker temporarily until resources can be reallocated:Īdditional focus from USPU is being placed on the Freight Elevators deliverable for hangars and cargo, and is a pre-requisite for hangars to persist. With this publish, we’re beginning to add the Q2 2023 schedule for upstream teams, with more teams to follow in subsequent publishes. Therefore, we are removing these two cards from Release View until their release timing is reassessed. The following card has been added to Release View, slated for release in Alpha 3.18:īuilding, balancing, and implementing Drake Interplanetary’s multi-crew explorer, the Corsair, into the game.Īfter further review, these deliverables will require additional tasks that are currently being scoped out and scheduled. It is no surprise that we have had an abnormal cadence this year and we are appreciative of all your support as we push through these major milestones. This means that the 3.18 patch will now also include content related to the IAE, which you will notice in the detailed breakdown below.Īs you know, PES and subsequent technologies (Server Meshing) will change the core of Star Citizen forever and provide a giant leap forward in realizing the vision of what our shared universe is meant to be. Our current goal is to release Alpha 3.18 to the live servers in the first half of November, ahead of the Intergalactic Aerospace Expo (IAE). We are eager to get Persistent Entity Streaming (PES) in your hands as quickly as possible, as the more time we have with all of you hammering on this new behemoth of technology, the better.Īs communicated in the last Letter From the Chairman, we expect PES to remain in PTU for 2-3 months for robust testing. ![]() We will start with Evocati and aim to expand to more players soon after. CIG Community Team Notable Changes for SeptemAlpha 3.18īefore we jump into the Roadmap update, we would like to give an update on the status of Alpha 3.18 as well as an update to our standard release cadence for this year.Īs previously mentioned, we are still on track to release Alpha 3.18 to the PTU this month (September). With that said, let’s go ahead and dive into this week’s Roadmap Roundup! This is part of an effort to make our communications more transparent, more specific, and more insightful for all of you who help to make Star Citizen and Squadron 42 possible. Every two weeks, we accompany the Roadmap update with a brief explanatory note to give you insight into the decision-making that led to any changes.
